Ratings!
00:18:47, 01 Feb 2010
Version 1 of the ratings system is now online. Just basic radio buttons to choose a rating between 1 and 5. Eventually I'll update this to an AJAX request with nice star images to click on, like LoveFilm use to rate their films, but for now this will do.
RSS Feeds and Twitter updates
17:23:44, 13 Jan 2010
Last night I coded up a small update for Snap365.
Two things of note: RSS feeds are now available for the published images and also for this news page. Secondly, I added a 'follow me on twitter link' and have modified my upload process so that when a new image is published it is also automatically published on my twitter page.
Now that I've finished work for the day I'm off to try and find something to photograph, however since we've had yet another day of snow and I've been trapped in the house all day my options are somewhat limited.
Comments added!
20:33:47, 11 Jan 2010
With a little effort this evening, I've added a user signup/login feature to the site, and enabled user comments on the images I upload. Comments from new users are moderated. Once a user has a number of approved comments they will become unmoderated and can post directly to the site. Hopefully this will help keep the spam down!
The ratings system will take a little longer though as I have to go take todays photo. It's now dawning on me now what a huge undertaking this project is!
I look forward to reading your comments. Constructive criticism more than welcome!
Bye for now,
- Jon
Site Online!
15:13:51, 11 Jan 2010
After a few hours work over the weekend, I've finally got the first iteration of Snap365 online.
There are a number of things I'm working on adding. The first being a registration and login feature, which leads on to the second thing ... user comments. Soon you will be able to log in, comment on photos, and give them a rating out of 5. Based on those ratings, a monthly favourite will be selected.
I guess that's it for now. I'll put further updates on here as I make changes to the site. Until then, I'll get back to my photos!
